Awareness Webinar and Design Studio on EcoNiwas Samhita organized in Maharashtra

An awareness programme and design studio was conducted on Eco-Niwas Samhita followed by competition by ENS cell Maharashtra, in association with Maharashtra Association of School of Architecture (MASA) under the guidance and support from Bureau of Energy Efficiency and GIZ. This programme was conducted through webinar using online tool on 27^th August 2020.The main objective of this programme was to enable participants understand the need and technical requirements for Eco-Niwas Samhita & Energy Efficiency Label for residential buildings. Also, a competition will be facilitated to design residential buildings as per technical requirements of Eco Niwas Samhita code.It was mandatory to have at least one entry from each organisation/ institute under which, a residential building can be developed as per ENS code and will be collectively assessed, and winner would be rewarded with the prize.The programme was conducted in two parts.The first part consists of technical session on introduction and technical aspects of Energy Efficiency Label for residential buildings and Eco-Niwas Samhita. Around 86 number of participants were present for this session which comprises students and faculties of BKPS college of architecture, Pune and JNEC college of architecture Aurangabad.

Second part of this programme consists of interactive session, where students have been given a chance to ask questions and get clarification on technical aspects of the ENS code or queries related to the competition. This session was conducted on the next day on 28^th August 2020. Around 30 participants have attended this session and asked multiple questions. Further, students will submit the design entries on 5^th September.
