Awareness drive in Architectural Colleges on Eco-Niwas Samhita (Energy Conservation Building Code for Residential Buildings) was conducted as a webinar in MBS School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. The webinar was conducted on 18th September 2020 for architecture students and faculties of theMBS School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. The webinar was organized by ENS Cells in support with EE & REM, BEE and GIZ.
The programme was inaugurated by Mr. T C Sharma, with the immense initiatives from EE&REM Centre towards the energy conservation in the state. Then it was commenced with an introduction speech from Ar. Manisha Singh. She explained the importance of energy efficiency in residential units in India as well the global scenario. She also discussed the initiatives taken by MBS School of Planning and Architecture towards the students to implement energy efficiency measures in the field of Architecture.
This was followed by representatives from BEE and GIZ who spoke about Eco-Niwas Samhita and the steps taken by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency for implementation of various energy policies in the residential building sector. The technical presentation session was divided into two parts where the EcoNiwas Samhita and Residential Building Labelling Programme were explained in detail by the experts. The key objectives, technical specifications, compliance of both the programmes were discussed. The technical session was followed by a quiz session with the students from the MBS School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. The total Number of participants were 162 people including the faculties and students of the college.
